Now that the MAIC water system is decommissioned we are in the process of disposing of or liquidating the land and equipment assets.  The 5000 gallon storage tank was removed on Tuesday 10/12, the propane tank has been returned to Suburban Propane, the electric service has been disconnected, all of the plumbing and pump wiring and controls in the pumphouse have been removed and the storage area above the rafters has been cleared.  The wells will be filled, cut off below grade and capped in the next week or so.

I am working with a realtor to make arrangements for the sale of the parcel of land.  We have two of our neighbors interested in the land at this point but if anyone else has an interest let me know.  You can look the parcel up on the Franklin County Auditor's website under owner Mount Air Improvement Association and the address 678 Plum Tree Drive.  It is approximately 0.06 acres.  The pump house will be demolished unless the party who purchases the land wishes to keep it.

MAIC Water System Decommissioned

The steel tank is concrete lined and weighs about 13,500 pounds. Unfortunately because of the lining none of the scrap yards wanted it since it could not be easily cut up.so we were not able to get anything for it.  The people at J-Dog Junk Removal in Delaware were very helpful in finding a place that would even take it and in making the necessary arrangements to get it out.  It was quite a process to get it lifted out onto the truck.  We had to have AEP de-energized the power lines for a couple of hours so that the 60 ton crane could reach over the wires to get at it and our Sharon Township Police helped manage traffic on 315 to get the equipment in and out.
